SSL – The server modules has also features of communicating with the mail server that require SSL.
Alerts - The user can also get notified of new mails in his “Inbox” through SMS Alerts.
Secure authentication – The user information that is communicated from the terminal to the server is encrypted.

Detailed Features:

Receiving Mail

The login details entered by the user on the handset are communicated from the terminal to the middleware server over the wireless medium. The middleware server then extracts the data and processes the request. The middleware server then establishes a connection to the enterprise mail server over POP3 protocols. The Enterprise Mail server then processes the POP3 request command and returns the data to the Middleware server. The Middleware server then sends the data to the handset client.
The login information once entered by the user in the settings is saved and so the user need not re enter the details every time he attempts to access the mailbox, unless he wishes to change the settings

Sending Mail

For sending mails, the SMTP server is used.
For sending mails Mobail connects to the specified SMTP server and delivers the mail to that server for relaying further. Kindly note the SMTP server needs to have relaying services enabled for the mails to be sent to internal and external recipients.
Mobail service supports different modes for connecting to the SMTP server. The connection can be established using Secured Password Authentication, as well as through secured tunneling via SSL
